Yummm, breakfast consisting of jelly coconut, wheat grass, coffee and oatmeal. Did I mention my friends live on the 18th floor of a condo/apt building. The condos take up 1/2 the floor and the view on all 3 sides is spectacular. What amazed me is with all the massive building - there is green everywhere and the first thing you hear in the morning is birds!! I have yet to hear an ambulance, fire truck or the like - gotta love it . Notice in the middle pix below, the swimming pool on the top floor (which seems to always be in use)
Today was the day to experience the flavor of Today was the dayBangkok. The Chatuchak is the largest outdoor market in the world, is only open on weekends and covers 27 acres. You will most likely not cover this in any regular tour. The space in the aisles is maybe 2-3 people wide so if you are claustrophobic don't even bother showing up. They have everything from animals (dogs, cats, chipmonks and spiders) to crafts, clothing, furniture (and a stall directly across so you can mail what you buy) and chatchkas. You can spend hours winding your way around, seeing everything and nothing and being overwhelmed by humanity. Sorry, no pix -- too crowded and you are warned to hang on to you belongings because of pickpockets
